Adelante Seniors Prep For Next Step

With big smiles and excitement to beg...

Dressed in black, putting one foot in front of the other, the Adelante Continuation High School’s Class of 2016 walked the stage at their graduation ceremony held on Monday, May 23 at the Ray Fauria Gym.

With graduation season underway there will be several students moving on to a new chapter in their lives like the 35 students that graduated from Adelante this year. There were 22 students that took their final walk during the graduation ceremonies.

The Valedictorian honor was held by Benny Hess and the Salutatorian honor was earned by Anahi Alcaraz.

Alexis Avila was the student speaker at the graduation and spoke on behalf of her fellow Adelante High School Trojans, motivating them to never give up, telling them to remember that all things are possible, and urging them to go out and make a difference in the world.

Adelante Teacher-in-Charge Amber Ryan also gave a motivational farewell speech to the graduating class.

Adelante graduate Karina Vigil received the Gloria Bracco Scholarship award.

“She is currently attending cosmetology school, and plans to enroll at MJC next fall,” stated Rebecca Evans, Adelante High School Principal.

The entire staff of Adelante High School, along with Riverbank Unified School District Assistant Superintendent Christine Facella was on hand to support, cheer and congratulate the students.

Diplomas were then distributed to the students by the Riverbank Unified School District Board of Trustees and Superintendent Dr. Daryl Camp accepted the graduating Class of 2016.

Members of the graduating class at Adelante will continue on to college, vocational school, a new job, and some may take some time off to enjoy the summer. Either way the future is bright for the graduates as they journey into adulthood.
