With just a couple of weeks remaining on the winter sports schedules for Riverbank High School teams, the Trans-Valley League games continue to roll on throughout the region. Here is a wrap of the recent Bruin action.

Boys Soccer

Riverbank varsity boys soccer team had two home games last week, first hosting the Crusaders of Modesto Christian High School with an 8-0 win on Monday, Jan. 22, then fighting to a 1-1 stalemate in a match against Hilmar last Wednesday, with both scores coming in the second period.

The Bruin boys were to be busy this week, with a game at Escalon on Monday, Jan. 29 at home against Mountain House on Wednesday, then another away match at Hughson on Friday, Feb. 2.

Lady Bruin Basketball

In games over the past week, Riverbank girls basketball hosted the Lady Mustangs of Mountain House, losing 71-66, on Tuesday, Jan. 23. On Thursday, they lost 56-48 on the road, at Escalon.

This week, the Lady Bruins host two games. Tuesday, Riverbank was to welcome the Lady Yellowjackets of Hilmar, after The News went to press, and tomorrow, they’ll face Ripon Christian’s Lady Knights, both TVL contests.

Girls Soccer

Last Monday, the Lady Bruin varsity soccer team had a match scheduled at Modesto Christian, but they’re not fielding a girls team this year. On Thursday last week, the girls traveled to Hilmar, where they dropped a 4-1 loss to the Lady Yellowjackets.

They were set to host the Lady Cougars of Escalon on Monday, Jan. 29, then travel to Mountain House on Wednesday and close out the week welcoming the Lady Huskies of Hughson on Friday.
