American Idol Winner Lee DeWyze Returns To Bankhead
DeWyze

Singer-songwriter Lee DeWyze brings his expressive roots-driven folk-rock style back to the Bankhead Theater in Livermore on his “Night and Day” tour on Saturday, June 22 at 8 p.m.

His powerful vocals, deeply personal lyrics and refined playing style are ideally-suited to the intimate acoustics of the 500-seat venue at 2400 First St. in downtown Livermore. Tickets for his single performance are just $20. Call 925-373-6800 or visit www.lvpac.org.

Even before winning the ninth season of American Idol at the age of 23, DeWyze had begun to build a solid career using his extensive musical talents on the guitar, mandolin, banjo and piano. Elmore Magazine has praised his ability to “transport his listeners out of their world and into his song.” DeWyze began writing songs at the age of 15 and his straight-from-the-heart lyrics and passionate, personal delivery soon earned him a wide circle of fans that continues to grow.

DeWyze has found a home for his skills across a wide range of projects. More than 30 of his songs have been featured in popular television shows, films and advertisements including the song “Blackbird” on The Walking Dead and “Sink or Swim” in the Julia Roberts’ film Ben is Back. DeWyze’s sixth studio album “Paranoia” was released in 2018. Described as cinematic and seductive, the album included the song “The Breakdown,” which was featured on Showtime’s hit Shameless last season.

Returning to open for DeWyze will be Frank Viele whose skills as a singer, guitarist, songwriter and performer have been recognized by the New England Music Awards for Album of the Year, Male Performer of the Year, and Live Act of the Year. Viele’s recently released album “What’s His Name?” is a showcase of his passionate and compelling storytelling style.
