From ancient myth to a cop on the beat, the definition of “hero” has grown and changed across time and cultures. Heroes Real & Imagined is an all-media juried exhibition hosted by the Carnegie and open to artists living in California.
This show asks artists to think above and beyond the comic book definition of “hero.” Why do some people, or the ideals they represent, become heroes to us as individuals and as communities? Submissions might include representations of mythic heroes, cultural icons, personal mentors, or civic figures – stories or people that represent what it means to be a hero.
All entry materials (entry forms, images, and fees) must be received by 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22. Entries should be submitted through SmarterEntry.com.
