Delicato Winery Plans Annual Fine Arts Show

Delicato Vineyards is hosting its 28th annual Fine Arts Show from Wednesday, Jan. 13 through Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016. The public is encouraged to visit the judged art that will be on display beginning Jan. 13 throughout the Tasting Room. All art in this show will be available for sale on a first come first sale basis.

Artists who would like to participate in the contest are to bring their entries from Saturday, Dec. 26 through Wednesday, Dec. 30 and from Saturday, Jan. 2 through Thursday, Jan. 7 to Delicato, on Highway 99, four miles north of Manteca. An application blank may be obtained by phoning, e-mailing, or visiting the Wine Tasting Room in Manteca. It is also posted on the website: www.dfvtastingroom.com.

Up to five pieces of art per artist may be entered, with an entry fee of $9 per piece, in the competition. The contest is open to entries by the creators of original art produced within the last three years. The Manteca Tasting Room staff will be accepted entries from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mediums of acrylic, watercolor, pastel, oil, charcoal or ink will be accepted. Photographs, computer altered and regular, should be entered in the June 2016 Photography Show. Judging of the original pieces in the categories of Landscape, Wine/Grapes, Portrait, Animals, Whimsical, and Other will be held Saturday, Jan. 9. If all categories receive sufficient entries, 20 awards totaling over $1,600 will be presented at the Feb. 6 award ceremony.

Admission is free and the tasting room is open seven days a week, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

 

Visitors are encouraged to taste the latest wine releases while viewing and/or purchasing the art.
