Enjoy Iconic ‘Boy Band’ Show At Stanislaus Fair
98 Degrees

Boy band mania is coming to the Stanislaus County Fair with iconic pop and contemporary R&B group 98 Degrees.

The group will be performing at the Stanislaus County Fair on Saturday, July 20 on the Coors Light Variety Free Stage at 8:30 p.m. The concert will be hosted by KHOP 95.1 and is free with the price of Fair admission.

“It’s always wonderful to have a talented group such as 98 Degrees come to our Fair,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “Guests will feel their passion and the iconic band will take them on a memorable journey of songs from the late ‘90s and early 2000s.”

In five short years – from 1997 to 2002 – the Pop and Contemporary R&B vocal group, 98 Degrees sold a staggering 10 million records, scored a chart-topping single, “Thank God I Found You,” with Mariah Carey and Joe, and collaborated with their collective idol, Stevie Wonder, on “True to Your Heart,” for the 1998 animated Disney film, Mulan. Their four-million-selling album, 98° and Rising (1998, Motown), spawned the top-five favorites “Because of You,” “I Do,” and “The Hardest Thing,” while 2000’s Revelation (Universal Records), which sold two million copies, peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 and yielded a trio of hits, “Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche),” “My Everything” and “The Way You Want Me To.”

The group emerged at a time when teen-oriented acts such as the Spice Girls, The Backstreet Boys and NSYNC were just hitting the top of the charts around the world. They differentiated themselves from many of the other teen bands at the time as they wrote much of their own material, which reflected their own R&B influences.

Over the past 15 years, all four members have enjoyed other careers outside of music.
