Lamplight Tours Scheduled At Columbia State Park
Lamplight

COLUMBIA — Columbia State Historic Park and Friends of Columbia are presenting Lamplight Tours in December.

Participants stroll through the decorated town for a walking play set during the Gold Rush. Docent-led tours will run Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7. Tours leave every 15 minutes. Refreshments and dancing follow each tour. Tickets are on sale now.

This year’s program is titled, “Just My Luck!” the story of Jedediah Moesley, the unluckiest miner you’ve ever met. Moseley has left his sweetheart on the East Coast to come to California and strike it rich. Follow this tale of gold rush hijinks as you weave through town and watch as Moesley’s string of bad luck unravels. Will Moesley’s fortunes change?

This is the second year Robin McGann has written and directed Lamplight Tours. She adds her own quirky sense of humor to each of the scenes.

Tickets for Lamplight Tours available online at www.friendsofcolumbiashp.com. Tickets are $25. Hotel packages are available Friday, Dec. 6 and include a one-night stay in the City or Fallon Hotel, two tickets for a tour, and a bottle of sparkling cider. Packages start at $110 per couple. Call (209) 532-1470 to book your stay.

All proceeds from the event and hotel packages will benefit the cooperating association Friends of Columbia in the funding of interpretive and educational events and programs at Columbia State Historic Park.
