MJC Fall String Recital

Modesto Junior College presents a Fall String Recital on Friday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Recital Hall – Music 108 on the East Campus, 435 College Ave., Modesto. Admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted. Campus parking is free for the evening.

The program features the students of Anne Martin, director of orchestra and strings at MJC, performing solo works by Bach, Marcello, Handel, Seitz and Perlman.

The program opens with the elementary strings class playing the “Indian Lament,” “Mari’s Wedding,” and “Boil that Cabbage Down.”

The String Orchestra is presenting works by Handel, Meyer, Pasquini, as well as a traditional American fiddle tune, “Cripple Creek” and an Israeli folk song, “Heiveinu Shalom Aleichem.”

Pianist Dashiel Reed will accompany the students.
