MJC presents John Griffin in Positive People Speaker Series
Calaveras

MODESTO – The Modesto Junior College Office of Campus Life and Student Learning’s next presenter in the 2018-19 Positive People Speaker Series is John Griffin, MJC program assistant, on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. in the Mary Stuart Rogers Student Learning Center on West Campus, 2201 Blue Gum Avenue, Modesto.

Griffin has faced a number of challenges while pursuing his life goals.  As a child, he didn’t know where his life was leading him and as a young single father he faced homelessness and various other obstacles.

The community is invited to this free presentation as Griffin shares an inspiring and motivating story of how his educational pursuits have opened a world of possibilities for him.  Campus parking is available in student lots for $2.

The Positive People Speaker Series features local community members who have overcome challenges and obstacles to achieve their goals. The series continues in the spring semester with a presentation on February 7 by Adrenna Alkhas, marketing and communications director for the Stanislaus County Fair and author of the book “EmpowHer.”  The final speaker is Sam Pierstorff, MJC professor of English and “Ninja Poet,” presenting on March 7, 2019.  These free presentations are also at 7 p.m. in the Mary Stuart Rogers Student Learning Center on West Campus.
