Neil Simons Rumors On Stage At West Side
masks

The West Side Players will be performing Neil Simon’s ‘Rumors’ on two weekends, April 21 through 23 and April 28 through 30, at the West Side Theatre in Newman.

Charley and Myra Brock are celebrating their 10th anniversary and have invited all their good friends. Chris and Ken Gorman are the first ones to arrive.

They show up only to find that Myra is missing and Charley has “accidentally” shot himself in the ear. Charley is unconscious and so unable to tell them what happened. Hoping to avoid a scandal, Ken and Chris go about covering up what they assume to be the truth of the situation. As the rest of the guests arrive, the story of Charley and Myra’s anniversary evening gone awry grows and develops.

The fantastical events of the evening are hilarious and give a rich basis for great characters doing what Neil Simon does best – making the mundane … insane.

Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes prior to each performance. Tickets are $15 for general seating and $18 for reserved seats. Students are admitted for half-price.
