The Sonora Bach Festival features concerts throughout the region, providing the community opportunities to hear fine local and professional musicians of all ages perform the music of Bach and others. The Festival is designed to provide unusual and high-quality performances of classical music for the Central Sierra community.

Saturday, Oct. 21, 3 p.m. features The Salon Concert, an intimate, afternoon house-concert with guest artist Lisa Grodin of early-music fame. A member of the internationally renowned Philharmonic Baroque orchestra and the American Bach Soloists, Ms. Grodin will feature the violin and viola with accompaniment in a lively and elegant program of Baroque music. Following the concert will be a delightful buffet presented by Chef David Ingram. The concert location, in one of the county’s beautiful homes, will be given at the time of ticket purchase. Admission for concert and buffet is $35 and advance reservations are required.

Sunday Oct. 29, 12:30 p.m. will be The Bach’s Brunch at Mt. Calvary Church, Sugar Pine. This concert gives the community an opportunity to enjoy a wonderful brunch, again prepared by Chef Ingram, and accompanied by beautiful music in the beautiful forest of the Sierra. The Bach Festival Trio featuring flautists Janet Telford and Sandra Betti and cellist Ralph Retherford will provide music. Tickets are $35 with advance reservations required.
