Visit Tuolumne County To Start Your Holiday Shopping Season

Visit Tuolumne County (VTC) is rolling out a shopping campaign of a different sort. Citing urgency in response to the recent PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoffs, the VTC team has created a marketing campaign called “Power Up the Season -Shop Tuolumne County Now.” The campaign aims to encourage shoppers to start holiday shopping earlier than the typical Black Friday or Shop Small Saturday.

“Shop Small Saturday is a great promotion, but we needed something more immediate to help businesses get back on track after the recent power shutoffs,” stated Visit Tuolumne County President and CEO Lisa Mayo.

The campaign focuses on the unique shopping opportunities that can be found in the towns of Tuolumne County. It will include three social media influencer visits, a radio campaign, print ads and more. The campaign will be promoted in Bay Area, Central Valley and local markets.

Additional details of the promotion are in the works and VTC hopes to have those solidified this week.

“We have more ideas up our sleeve to promote shopping, dining and lodging in Tuolumne County as part of this campaign and are currently working out logistics for those ideas. We look forward to working with our many community partners to make this a successful season for our local businesses,” Mayo added.

Visit Tuolumne County is also working on Tuolumne County Restaurant Week which will take place Jan. 19 through 25, 2020 and will be hosting an Agritourism Summit on Feb. 20, 2020. For details on these events or for any other information, call Visit Tuolumne County at 209-533-4420.
