Riverbank Rotarians gathered at Jacob Myers Park on Saturday morning to cut the ribbon on a picnic area that they have made fully accessible to the handicapped.

The area can be reserved in advance by contacting the Riverbank Recreation Department. It is not restricted to the handicapped but may be used by the general public as well.

The additions and improvements to a site that offered few amenities before include three picnic tables accessible by wheelchair, a concrete path connecting the picnic area with a designated road parking area, refinishing of an existing barbecue, a Rotary sign and placards designating the handicapped access.
