That time of year has rolled around again, but not without some changes.

Members of the Riverbank Historical Society are preparing their annual After Mother’s Day Fundraiser, held each year the Sunday after Mother’s Day, this year coming up on May 18.

In the past, it has always been the After Mother’s Day Omelet Breakfast, but this year, there’s a change.

This time, it’s the After Mother’s Day Pancake Breakfast.

Yes, the menu has changed slightly, featuring pancakes, sausage, fresh fruit, coffee ... and eggs, if desired. The $5 mimosas will return, along with some opportunity drawings.

Several years ago, the Riverbank Federated Women’s Club joined in the breakfast effort, so the two organizations are splitting the proceeds, which provide funding for both organizations that fund operations and scholarships for City of Riverbank residents.

The breakfast will be cooked up and served at the Riverbank Community Center, 3600 Santa Fe St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 18.

The cost is $20 for adults, youngsters ages 6 to 12 eat for $10, those 5 and under, free. Tickets will be available at the Riverbank Museum, 3237 Santa Fe, on Saturday, at City Hall during regular hours, or at the door on the day of the event.

Organizers say it’s an opportunity to continue celebrating mom while helping to fund two community organizations.
