American Idol Contestant Ready To Perform At Fair

Ryan Hammond, a 2019 American Idol contestant and Modesto native, is scheduled to perform the National Anthem at the Destruction Derby event at the Stanislaus County Fair on Monday, July 15 at 6:30 p.m.

The Fair has also planned many new and exciting entertainment opportunities this year that will be sure to please the whole family.

“The Fair is thrilled to have local performers who will dazzle our guests with their talents,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson of the Stanislaus County Fair. “We are always honored to showcase our local talents and are excited to provide this experience to our guests.”

On the PG&E Community Stage, Peter Gossamer, world renown for his electrifying performance of magic, dance and theater will be presented. He is considered a pioneer in magic because of his original concepts and fresh approach to the art of illusion. Gossamer is one of the most memorable celebrities in magic with a charismatic personality that makes him deservedly popular wherever he appears.

On the Bud Light Center Stage, the Fair will have many local acts including Mondo Mariscal, Third Party, MF Silverado, John Silvera, G Street Revolution, Tomorrow’s Sun, Johnny and the Classics, VMI Rocks, Rich Olds, Charlize Elizabeth, Inspire Voice Studio, Ava Grace Music, Generations, Central CA Square Dance Association, GK Music, Los Amigos Band, and many more to come. The Fair’s electrifying DJ will be playing every night as well.

There will also be many acts strolling the grounds. Karen Quest, dubbed “America’s Funniest Cowgirl”, will be back once again with her original comedy act, Cowgirl Tricks. Skillful trick roping, impressive whip cracking, magic, music, and improvisational kooky cowgirl shenanigans have proven wildly popular with audiences of all ages.

In addition to Quest, also performing will be the Street Drum Corps, a world-renowned, high-energy drum show that performs at fairs and festivals across the United States, a Dino Walk where guests can come face-to-face with a dinosaur as they stroll through the fair fun, and Buck Trout with his truck driving puppet show.

The 2019 Stanislaus County Fair opens Friday, July 12 for a 10-day run. Discounted Fair admission tickets, unlimited ride wristbands, and the Fair season pass are now on sale. The 2019 Fair will feature a children’s area presented by Sky Trek Aviation. Also planned for 2019 are 10-nights of free celebrity concerts included with Fair admission, a total of three stages of live entertainment, upwards of 30,000 local exhibits and over 1,750 animals. Metal-mashing motorsports in the FoodMaxx Arena will also be featured.
