Riverbank veterans attending this year’s luncheon sponsored by the Royal Neighbors will be sitting down in Modesto, not Riverbank as in previous years.

It’s the Neighbors’ 11th annual event, but this year, it has moved to, and is co-sponsored by, the Veterans Foundation of Stanislaus County, and will be held in their facility at 3500 Coffee Road in Modesto. The center is located behind Marie Callender’s and next to the MOCSE Credit Union.

The move was necessitated, according to organizer Diane Talbert, because the Riverbank Community Center was scheduled to be closed for renovations this fall.

In past years, the event has filled the center with local veterans.
