Aquatics Fun To Continue At Riverbank Community Pool

One might assume that summer is over, just because school is getting ready to start. But family fun and aquatics fitness will continue at the Riverbank Community Pool well into August.

Starting on Friday, Aug. 3 and continuing through Aug. 17, Family Night at the Pool returns, with free swim time from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning, Aug. 7, Aquatic Fitness and Lap Swim sessions will be held at the pool, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is for swimmers 13 years old and up, with a drop-in charge of $5.

Last, but possibly most interesting, and decidedly new to Riverbank, a log rolling competition will be held on Aug. 24, at 7 p.m.

Don’t know how to log roll? No problem; Riverbank Recreation Supervisor Julia Petit has an answer for those who are born competitors but lack these specific skills.

She said there will be two practice sessions available prior to the contest, on Monday, Aug. 20 and Wednesday, Aug. 22, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the pool.

Those 12 and older are eligible to compete.
