On Saturday, May 11 at approximately 6:12 a.m. the California Highway Patrol, fire, ambulance and the Stanislaus County Sheriff Department were dispatched to a report of an injury accident in the 7600 Block of Rodden Road just outside the city of Oakdale. The report was for a single person down in the roadway with injuries. When first responders arrived on scene they observed what they believed to be a crime scene and not an injury accident.

The Stanislaus County Crimes Against Person Team was activated and responded to the scene to investigate.

At approximately 8 a.m., the California Highway Patrol received a report of an unrelated accident on Highway 99 near the intersection of West Main Street, in Turlock.

They arrived and began to investigate the accident. It appeared there was a crime scene inside one of the involved vehicles; specifically that someone had previously been shot inside the vehicle. The driver of this vehicle was identified as Scott Williams, 21, from Riverbank.

A nexus was established between this vehicle and the deceased female located on Rodden Rd. Williams was subsequently arrested by the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office for homicide. The California Highway Patrol also arrested Williams for the additional charges of driving under the influence, possession of a concealed loaded firearm and resisting arrest.

The victim of this homicide is an adult female. Her identity is being withheld pending notification to her family. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
