Riverbank Police Services continues to investigate a robbery that occurred at the Wells Fargo Bank in the Crossroads Shopping Center in Riverbank. At approximately 10:38 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16 there were numerous calls regarding suspects wearing masks carrying firearms entering the bank. The suspects, wearing hoodies and sunglasses that covered their faces, fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. A witness reported that there was a shot fired by one of the three suspects outside. Deputies, Detectives, Modesto Police officers, and California Highway Patrol were also on scene to assist in the search for the robbery suspects.

The vehicle that the suspects were in was stolen and as they left the scene they hit a bicyclist on Oakdale Road and Freddie Lane. The bicyclist was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. The vehicle was abandoned on Hannah Court and another vehicle was commandeered, which was a black four door sedan, possibly a newer model Lexus that has front end damage from a citizen who followed the suspects and tried to block them in.

There were no injuries reported at the bank during the robbery.

This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information can call Riverbank Police Services Detective Brandon Silva at 209-863-7136.
