Bicyclist Struck, Killed On Claus

An Oakdale man was arrested in connection with a vehicle vs. bicycle collision Thursday on Claus Road, with the bicyclist killed in the incident.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department reported that at approximately 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 4, a vehicle travelling northbound in the 6100 block of Claus Road in Riverbank veered to the east side of the roadway. The vehicle struck and killed a male on his bicycle. The driver was contacted at the scene and identified as Jordan Pomares-Boeh, 24, of Oakdale.

Investigators determined that Pomares-Boeh was intoxicated. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for Driving Under the Influence causing death. The name of the victim was not immediately available.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the incident.
