Birthday Celebration Set To Honor Marine Corps

Marine Corps League Detachment Bill King 019 of Modesto will celebrate the 243rd birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps with a dinner and dance party on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Stanislaus Veterans Center at 3500 Coffee Road in Modesto.

The celebration is open to marines both past and present, their families, friends and anyone who would like to join them in celebrating the honor, tradition and sacrifices of the men and women who wore the Marine Corps uniform. The event will feature a live band, traditional cake cutting ceremony, a message from Marine Corps Commandant General Robert E. Neller, a raffle and no host bar.

Price for the dinner is $35 per person. Social hour is at 6 p.m. with dinner served at 7 p.m.
