Bring Toy For Giving At Drive-Thru

Riverbank High School seniors are raising money for their Senior Trip to Disneyland in the spring and they are also hoping to help the community.

A Drive Thru dinner fundraiser is scheduled Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 10 and 11 at Cool Hand Luke's on Patterson Road. Those attending to drive thru to pick up their meals are also asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy that will be used to help fill gift needs of local families this holiday season. Toys are needed for all ages.

The $10 per dinner cost will benefit the senior class at RHS, and is good for a chicken dinner served with a quarter chicken, rice pilaf, green beans with sautéed bacon and onions and a dinner roll.

Parent volunteer Traci Codde said the goal is to serve 600 meals each day, with the drive thru dinner served from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Tickets are presold and can be purchased from Riverbank High School seniors, Codde or at the high school. Codde said there is a specific 'drive thru' lane dedicated at Cool Hand Luke's (adjacent to Galaxy 12) on the days of the fundraiser, with the drivers presenting their tickets and students bringing the meals to their car. Drivers don't get out of their vehicles.

There may be a limited number of tickets available the day of the event, but the best bet is to buy them in advance. Codde said they are also planning additional fundraisers as a way to offset the cost of the grad night Disneyland trip, with a pasta feed being planned in February.
