In an announcement earlier this month, Riverbank High School Bruin Band Director Joey Aguilar indicated that four of his band members have been selected to perform with the Stanislaus County Honor Band.

He said the group included one brass player and three woodwinds.

“I am happy to announce that we have four students that auditioned and have been selected for the 2019 Stanislaus County Music Education Association Honor Band,” Aguilar said.

Senior Jenise Perryman secured her fourth year in the honor band, as Second Chair Trombonist. The others, he said, are in their first year in the honor band and include Dolores Navarro as 10th Chair Flute, Lizbeth Ramos as Fifth Chair Alto Saxophone and Brenden Hetzler as 17th Chair Clarinet.

“This is the most students that Riverbank has had in the honor band since I took over the music program in 2013,” Agular noted.

The Stanislaus County Honor Band will perform in concert on Jan. 26, 2019, starting at 7 p.m. at the Auditorium on the campus of Modesto Junior College. It is open to the public. Riverbank students will join fellow musicians from schools throughout the county to rehearse and perform.
