A Car Seat Checkup Event is scheduled for Saturday, July 14 in Riverbank.

Hosted by a group of sponsors, those include the Safe Kids Stanislaus County program, Doctors Medical Center and Riverbank Police Services, among others.

Learn how to install your child’s car seat or booster seat and find out if it’s time for a change, depending on your child’s age, weight and height.

Nationally certified technicians will be on hand for the event, set from 9 a.m. to noon at Galaxy Theatre, 2525 Patterson Road. The event is scheduled for the three-hour window or until they have served 50 children.

The technicians will inspect and help you properly install your child’s car seat.

Officials said women who are six months or more pregnant are welcome to come and receive assistance installing a car seat. Please bring proof of pregnancy. Those planning to attend should also plan on spending approximately 45 minutes per car seat and should bring the car seat, the child who rides in the seat and, if possible, both the child seat instruction manual and the vehicle owner’s manual.
