Coming up today, Wednesday, June 23 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Riverbank Farmers Market will be hosting its fifth annual car show featuring autos, trucks and motorcycles from throughout the area. The free event will be held at the Riverbank Community Center Park on the corner of Sixth and Santa Fe streets near downtown Riverbank.

According to the event coordinator, Scott Pettit "we are looking for owners who would like to display their favorite ride whether it is new, custom, classic, rare, vintage or project car, truck or motorcycle."

There is no fee to display vehicles, he added, although organizers are asking for a $10 donation toward the Teen Center to take part in the show and will present some trophies including People's Choice, Best of Show and Best Club.

"We are also looking for vendors of auto related items who would like to have a booth at the event. Again this year, our car show is part of the region's Graffiti Summer promotion with print and radio ads so we expect a great turnout," Pettit noted.

In addition to the car show and Farmers Market, there will be food vendors, and free games, contests and live music.

More information is available at www.favoriterides.net or by calling 209-480-2271.

Awards will be large multi-column trophies built by Jay's Trophies of Modesto. Also new is a Best Club award sponsored by Riverbank Sno-White and judged by event organizers. Besides the People's Choice trophies and the Best Club trophy, there will be multiple Best of Show trophies determined by the registrants via ballot.

There will be a professional photographer at the event snapping pictures of each vehicle plus some event cameos. His information will be available so visitors can order pictures, Pettit added.
