Riverbank resident Virginia Hess aka “the hat lady” celebrated turning 100 years young this past week on Wednesday, Feb. 15. A party was thrown in her honor at the Stanislaus County Veterans Services Office in Modesto. According to her son, Rick Hess, “it was awesome” and “she enjoyed every minute of it.”
