Oakdale resident Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Vasquez celebrated her 100th birthday on Tuesday, Aug. 27. She is shown here with son Jon, who was in town for the occasion and helped coordinate a birthday party for the new centenarian. Family and friends also provided well-wishes from afar if they couldn’t be in attendance. Dottie is a California native and is a 32-year resident of Oakdale; she also lived in Calaveras County for many years.
