The Civil Air Patrol Lt Col Arthur King Composite Squadron 50 is planning an Open House for Saturday, Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Modesto Airport, 700 Tioga Drive, Modesto.

If you know a young person who is interested in flying, aviation, search & rescue or the military, this is an opportunity to introduce them to a program where they can begin their journey. Squadron 50 only accepts new cadets, ages 12 to 18, a few times a year. All interested are encouraged to come out to the airport to learn more about the Civil Air Patrol and the youth program.

The Cadet program teaches youth ages 12 to 20 about leadership, exploring aerospace, aviation careers, emergency services, physical fitness, character development and more. Squadron 50 also has an adult program for interested parents or anyone with a desire to the serve the nation. Civil Air Patrol is the official Auxiliary of the United States Air Force and has been serving the nation since Dec. 1, 1941.
