At Columbia State Historic Park, the nonprofit organization Friends of Columbia State Historic Park, presents “History’s Mysteries” on Saturdays, Aug. 3 and Aug. 17, at 10 a.m. Cost is five dollars per person.

Those planning to attend are asked to reserve tickets online, as space is limited to 35 participants. Go to http://friendsofcolumbiashp.org/historysmysteries.html or call 209-588-8411 to reserve your spot.

Participants take part in solving a historical crime that actually took place, in early Columbia. Friends of Columbia State Historic Park’s costumed docents reenact a crime, while History’s Mysteries participants put their investigative skills to the test. Though the presentation provides circumstantial evidence, it is up to the participants to seek out the truth of this tragic event by watching a reenactment of the events, walking through the crime scene, interviewing “witnesses” and participating in the resulting inquest.
