Pumpkin Patch Open

Pumpkins and festive gourds are available at Vella Farms, 5136 Dale Road, Modesto, open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Proceeds from this event benefit the Children’s Crisis Center of Stanislaus County, Inc.; VIPS, the Visually Impaired Persons Support; and Rotary Club of Salida.

 

Celtic Music On Tap

The lads of “Brennan’s Parlor” will be hosting a “Ceilidh” or Celtic music gathering at the H-B/Bacchi’s on Monday, Oct. 18 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The community is invited to come, bring an instrument or voice and a love for good old pub favorites. Looking for guitarists, fiddlers, banjo players or any folk instrument that would play the Celtic genre.

If you are not a musician but love that style of music, come enjoy; and perhaps sing along with the music.

 

Seed Saving Class

All are welcome to join in a seed saving class on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m., at the Stanislaus County Agricultural Center, Harvest Hall (breezeway, an outdoor class), 3800 Cornucopia Way, Modesto. Learn which seeds are best to save, how to save them, and how to store your seeds for next year. The class is an hour long, with instructor Heidi Aufdermaur. Women Voters Session

The League of Women Voters of Stanislaus County are planning a Meet and Learn event on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m., via Zoom. This will be an informative Meet and Learn workshop that will feature members of the Forward Together Committee formed by Modesto Mayor Sue Zwahlen to discuss implementation of AB 392 (police use of force policy) within our local police forces.
