Cop Shop Program Offered

Riverbank Police Services has announced the "Shop with a Cop" Program, according to Police Chief Bill Pooley.

This program is designed to assist underprivileged children during the holiday season. Through generous donations from the community and participating local businesses, selected children will be picked up by a deputy in a patrol car and escorted to selected stores throughout the City of Riverbank. The deputy will shop with the children, who will receive a warm jacket and much needed essential clothing. At the conclusion of the shopping spree, the children will be escorted to the Riverbank Community Center, where they will join their parents and enjoy a pizza dinner. Santa will be there, taking pictures with the children and passing out gifts. This year's event is scheduled to take place on Friday, Dec. 18.

If you or your business would like to participate or help sponsor a child, contact Detective Jesus Sigala at 209-863-7117.
