As businesses continue to open back up, officials with the Stanislaus County Health Services Agency are reporting a rise in coronavirus cases.

The figures released on Monday, June 15 showed 1,242 positive cases of coronavirus in the county. There were 35 reported deaths, 876 recovered cases and 18,725 negative tests.

Meanwhile, the State of California has posted new guidance to allow the future reopening of personal services such as nail salons, tattoo parlors, massage businesses, etc. in California. However, Stanislaus County does not intend to reopen these additional businesses immediately, but does encourage business owners to carefully review the guidelines and prepare themselves for a safe reopening to the public.

County officials are hopeful that these new business categories could reopen as early as July 1; however that determination will be based on an ongoing review of the spread of COVID-19 in Stanislaus County and the impact of previously approved openings for other business sectors, including bars, restaurants and gyms.

Nearby Woodward Reservoir is open for camping and day use, but with residency restrictions – you must live in Stanislaus County – and there is a boil water advisory in effect as well.

Currently, county officials are planning to provide an update on Monday, June 29 regarding the potential reopening of personal services.
