Council issues kudos to Eagles hoop squad

In action at its Tuesday, Jan. 28, regular meeting, the Riverbank City Council honored Cardozo Middle School’s girls basketball team for its first-place finish in the recent season.

Mayor Rachel Hernandez presented a Certificate of Recognition to the team and coaches of the Cardozo Eagles team, recognizing them as the Mid Valley Athletic League girls basketball champions.

“In recognition of your exceptional teamwork, dedication, and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the season,” the certificate from the council noted. “Your collective efforts, commitment, and perseverance have brought great pride to the team, school, and community. Your hard work both on and off the court has exemplified the true spirit of competition and unity. Congratulations!”

The team also took time for a photo, with coaches, parents and school administrators joining in as well, posing with and the mayor and council members.
