Further court action is possible as Stanislaus County Supervisor Kristin Olsen faces a count of driving under the influence stemming from her arrest in Sacramento County on Sept. 12.
According to the CHP, the supervisor, who represents Oakdale and Riverbank on the county board, was stopped for driving erratically and driving without headlights. Misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and having a blood alcohol content of .0.08 or higher were filed, authorities said.
Olsen released a statement the next day indicating she regretted the “inadvertent, careless mistake” and offered an apology both to her family and constituents.
Whether formal charges will be filed against Olsen by the Sacramento County District Attorney’s office was unknown at press time, though the case was being reviewed.
Olsen previously served as a State Assemblymember representing this area, from 2010 to 2016 and ran for the District 1 supervisor seat after it was vacated by Bill O’Brien. She began her term on the county board in January of 2017.
