COVID-19 Vaccine PODs Postponed In Stanislaus County

Following the guidance of California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Stanislaus County Public Health will not be holding COVID-19 vaccination clinics until further notice. This is due to a pause in administration of Moderna Lot 041L20A until the investigation by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Food and Drug Administration, (FDA), Moderna, and CDPH is complete; there were some adverse reactions reported to that specific lot, said officials.

Prior to Monday, Jan. 18, Stanislaus County Public Health had administered 520 vaccines from Moderna Lot 041L20A and none of the recipients had any adverse reactions.

Both Points of Distribution (POD), the Modesto Centre Plaza and California State University of Stanislaus PODs, will be nonoperational on Tuesday, Jan.19, 2021. Due to this recommendation, Stanislaus County will not have enough vaccines to operate community vaccination clinics at this time. Stanislaus County is working with the California Department of Public Health to acquire future allocations of vaccine and begin vaccinating the community again as soon as possible.

Public updates will be provided regarding the availability of the vaccine and operations of PODs as more information comes in. Public Health apologizes for the inconvenience this may have caused to the residents in Stanislaus County and appreciates their patience and understanding.
