A Riverbank man sustained major injuries in a single vehicle collision on Highway 33 in Gustine.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. Sept. 30 on Highway 33, north of Pfitzer Road.

Samuel Porter, 36, of Riverbank was driving a 2008 Cadillac southbound on Highway 33 at an unknown rate of speed. Just north of Pfitzer Road, Porter lost control of the vehicle and it collided with a Pacific Gas and Electric power pole, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Porter sustained major non-life-threatening injuries, including head lacerations. He was transported by air ambulance to Doctors Medical Center.
