Murder Suspect In County Jail
Murder Arrest
Isaac Vaughn

Stanislaus Sheriff’s investigators announced a Riverbank man wanted in connection with a homicide last month that left a 59-year-old man dead was arrested Wednesday night, Sept. 10 in Turlock.

Homicide detectives arrested Isaac Vaughn, 33, of Riverbank as he left a Walmart at 2480 Geer Road in Turlock. An anonymous caller who had seen Vaughn’s photo from CrimeStoppers wanted posters recognized him and called authorities.

Detectives were able to respond to the location and arrested Vaughn, without incident, as he exited the store.

Deputies had identified Vaughn as a suspect in the murder of Jesus Quintana, who was found dead and partially clothed in the front yard of a house in the 3700 block of Texas Avenue in Riverbank on Tuesday night, Aug. 5.

Investigators determined Quintana died during a fight with Vaughn.

After an autopsy later that day concluded the case was a homicide, detectives issued a warrant to arrest Vaughn on a charge of murder.

Sheriff’s officials still have not said how Quintana died, nor what might have instigated the fight, however contact at the residence by The Oakdale Leader/Riverbank News revealed witnesses who stated that Quintana “had tried to rape” a woman who also lived at the residence.

The evening of the homicide when deputies responded to the house they found an adult female hiding inside. She was uninjured, but was taken to the police department as part of being “a victim in an associated crime,” officials said.

Detectives are not releasing any further information on the case or the cause of death at this time.
