Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 10-5-22

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Sept. 27 through Monday, Oct. 3. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

SATURDAY, OCT. 1

Crews conducted multi-company drills at Station17. Crews worked on hoseline deployments and command and control.

6:17 p.m. – Engine 26 (Riverbank) was dispatched to the 2600 block of Haystack Court. They arrived to find a subject not breathing and began CPR. AMR arrived and started the ALS protocols. After 32 minutes of care, they achieved ROSC. The patient was transported to a local hospital with two firefighters in the ambulance.

 

FRIDAY, SEPT. 30

Training Division worked with Engineers on sign offs for Quint 18.

The Technical Rescue Team completed monthly training (low angle) in Knights Ferry.

Engine 27 and 28 completed company level training.

2:31 p.m. – Engine 28, Engine 27, Engine 29 and BC5 responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Highway 120. Engine 28 arrived to find two vehicles involved and began to investigate for injuries. Engine 28 found one subject with minor injuries and canceled the balance. CHP investigating.

5:34 p.m. – E3, E5, E7, E9, E21, Q22, BC1 and BC2 responded to a working structure fire in the 3800 block of Tumbleweed Court, Oakdale. Smoke from the eaves was observed on arrival, heavy fire was found on one side of the home. A quick aggressive fire attack was conducted and knock down was declared around the 13-minute mark.

11:13 p.m. – Engine 28, Engine 27, Engine 29 and BC5 responded to a reported motorcycle vs. tractor collision; no address listed. Engine 28 arrived to find a single patient with major injuries. The patient was transported from the scene by ground ambulance and is CHP investigating the incident.

 

THURSDAY, SEPT. 29

E23, E26, Q22 and BC2 participated in battalion drills at the Regional Fire Training Center, the focus was on above ground fires.

 

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 28

Crews stayed busy with Engine and Station Maintenance. Training was conducted at the engine company level.

MST units E29, SQ11, T1, T5, and SQ32 participated in a low angle drill in Knights Ferry.

9:45 p.m. – E26, E7, Q22, and B1 responded to an accident with a report of a person pinned in a vehicle at the intersection of Roselle Avenue and Claribel Road. E26 arrived and reported two vehicles involved with two patients. One immediate patient was needing extrication. The other patient was delayed. Units extricated driver. AMR transferred both patients to local hospitals. Sherriff’s Department investigating.
