Late November and early December calls for service have kept Riverbank Police Services personnel busy over the past week, deputies handling cases including a hit and run, theft and driving under the influence.

On Sunday, Dec. 5 at approximately 11 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a dispute in the 6500 block of Fourth Street. A 32-year-old was subsequently arrested for battery.

On Saturday, Dec. 4 at 8 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a disturbance on the 6000 block of Preakness Drive. A report of a stolen cell phone was taken.

At 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, deputies and officers from Stanislaus County Probation conducted a sweep of eight probationers living in the city of Riverbank. David Rigdon, 29, was arrested for violation of probation and being a felon in possession of ammunition.

Deputies responded to the report of a stolen vehicle in the 6000 block of Preakness Drive on Saturday at 9:20 a.m. The victim of the cell phone theft from the prior call in the area reportedly walked down the street and stole a vehicle.

On Saturday at 10 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Stanislaus Street and Jackson Avenue. The driver, a 40-year-old man, was found to have an outstanding warrant. He was booked at county jail for his warrant.

At 12:20 p.m. on Saturday, deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Topeka Street and Jackson Avenue. The driver, a 26-year-old man., was found to have an outstanding warrant. He was booked at county jail for the warrant.

Deputies responded to the report of a catalytic converter theft at the 5200 block of Yearling Court on Saturday at 1:40 p.m. The theft occurred sometime between Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. to Dec. 3 at 6 a.m.

At 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to a report of a subject on the tracks on the train bridge in River Cove Drive. The male was located on the bridge and transported from the area.

On Saturday at 10:15 p.m., deputies responded to a fight in the 500 block of Lipizzan Court. One of those involved fled prior to the arrival of deputies.

On Thursday, Dec. 2 at 6:20 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a stolen vehicle, taken from the Target parking lot.

On Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 8:45 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver, a 33-year-old, for driving under the influence of alcohol.

At 1 a.m. on Wednesday, deputies located a vehicle in the Kohl’s parking lot. The vehicle was determined to have been stolen from Atwater. The vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner.

Deputies responded to the report of a hit and run vehicle collision with no injuries at the intersection of Callander Avenue and Santa Fe Street on Wednesday at 4 p.m. A report was taken.

On Tuesday, Nov. 30 just after midnight, deputies were flagged down in the area of Patterson and Claus Roads on a subject sleeping in his vehicle. When deputies contacted the 34-year-old man, he woke up and drove off. They observed his erratic driving and stopped him. The man was found to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages and over the legal limit. He was arrested and booked for driving under the influence.

At 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies responded to the report of a wallet theft from the 2300 block of Claribel Road that occurred on Nov. 21.

Deputies responded to the report of a stolen vehicle license plate from the Quail Meadows Mobile Home Park on Tuesday at 3 p.m.

On Tuesday at 3:50 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a vehicle collision in the Target parking lot. A 39-year-old was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
