Some major incidents kept deputies with Riverbank Police Services busy this past week, with a grand theft and armed robbery among them.

On Sunday, Aug. 14 deputies investigated a property damage only collision on Ward and Roselle avenues.

On Sunday at 8 p.m., deputies investigated a disturbance in the 3700 block of Nevada Avenue. A 39-year-old man was arrested following the investigation.

Deputies and the fire department investigated a fire in the backyard of a residence in the 3400 block of Stanislaus Street on Sunday at 11:30 p.m. Two adults were charged with arson after it was determined they were recklessly burning trash.

On Saturday, Aug. 13 at 8 a.m., deputies located a 28-year-old man at the intersection of Fourth Street and Topeka Street. He was arrested for multiple warrants.

At 2 p.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to the report of a grand theft at Ulta. The investigation is ongoing.

Deputies responded to the report of a family disturbance in the 6600 block of River Mesa Drive on Saturday at 8 p.m.

On Friday, Aug. 12 at 9:40 a.m., deputies were conducting a separate investigation in the 3700 block of Atchison Street when a 70-year-old man drove into the parking lot and slumped over the wheel. Deputies checked him for a medical condition and smelled the odor of alcohol. The man was subsequently booked for driving under the influence of alcohol.

At 12:10 p.m. on Friday, deputies responded to the report of a credit card theft in the 3700 block of Iowa.

Deputies responded to the report of a petty theft in the 4200 block of Labrador Lane on Friday at 2:15 p.m.

At 3:45 p.m. on Friday, deputies responded to the report of a traffic collision, minor injuries, at the intersection of First Street and Stanislaus Street.

Deputies responded to the report of a screaming man in the roadway on Friday at 11:30 p.m. Deputies located the victim who had been pepper sprayed in the roadway. The investigation is ongoing.

On Thursday, Aug. 11 at 1:40 a.m., deputies were flagged down for a robbery that occurred outside the city, at the intersection of Patterson Road and Coffee Road. The investigation is ongoing.

At 3 a.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the report of a vandalism at the intersection of Third Street and Stanislaus Street.

On Thursday at 5:30 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a disturbance in the 3700 block of Nevada Avenue. Deputies contacted a 39-year-old man who was wanted for a domestic violence incident from Oakdale. He was booked on the warrant.

At 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the report of a grand theft at the CVS Pharmacy.

On Thursday at 11:30 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a stolen vehicle at the River View Garden Apartments.

During the afternoon on Thursday at 2 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a family disturbance at the intersection of Homewood Way and Gallery Drive.

Deputies responded to the report of a grand theft at the Ulta on Thursday at 2:15 p.m. Authorities said a suspect identified as Charisse Griffin, 33, was located using a razor blade to steal products from Ulta and Kohls. Over $1,000 in products were stolen by Griffin and a juvenile accomplice. Griffin and the juvenile were booked for robbery and criminal conspiracy.

On Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 9:15 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a traffic collision, property damage only, at the intersection of Labrador Lane and Central Avenue.

At 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies responded to the report of a vandalism in the 7000 block of La Costa Court.

On Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 12:35 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 3800 block of Kentucky Avenue on a vandalism. Cristian Tafollahernandez, 23, was arrested for felony vandalism of the contents of a residence.

At 11:13 a.m. on Tuesday, deputies were dispatched to the 5400 block of Gold Hill Drive on a battery incident with an arrest made.

On Tuesday morning at 11:27 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the Home Depot, on a strong-armed robbery. A subject entered the store to steal items.  When confronted, he pushed the loss prevention officer and fled the store.  The investigation is still ongoing.

Deputies were dispatched to Save Mart on a strong-arm robbery on Tuesday at 5:18 p.m.  Deputies arrived on scene to find a suspect identified as Edward Jones, 32, on the ground and being held down by patrons of the store. The victim, the store manager, stated he observed Jones grab several packets of meat products and attempt to leave the store without paying for the items. When confronted, Jones swung at the manager to strike him and escape. He was tackled to the ground and held until deputies arrived.  Jones was arrested without further incident.

On Tuesday at 8:15 p.m., deputies responded to the report of an attempted petty theft from the O’Brien’s Market.
