Deputies in Riverbank ended the month of July with a number of calls for service including grand theft, petty theft, fights, and assault.

On Sunday, July 31 at 6:10 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Terminal Avenue and Texas Avenue on a solo-non-injury motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, deputies determined the driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old man, was intoxicated. He was arrested for driving under the influence and transported without incident.

Deputies were dispatched to the 5900 block of Newbrook Drive on a dispute on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Deputies took a 37-year-old man into custody following an investigation. He was arrested and transported without incident.

At 11:36 p.m. on Sunday, deputies attempted to make a traffic stop for unsafe speed at Kentucky Avenue and Snedigar Road. The vehicle failed to stop and led the deputies on a pursuit. The driver slowed down and a female passenger jumped out and ran through an open field. The driver then continued about 50 feet and came to a stop. The driver, a 48-year-old man, was arrested without incident. The investigation is ongoing to identify and locate the female.

On Saturday, July 30 at 12 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a theft suspect at Kohls. A 34-year-old man was seen taking items and tried to leave the store without paying. Kohl’s loss prevention followed the suspect out of Kohl’s and to the front of the Target store. The suspect then concealed the stolen merchandise within a Target shopping cart. When deputies arrived, the suspect walked into Target in an attempt to hide from them. The suspect was subsequently located and detained while the investigation took place. He was arrested for shoplifting and five warrants.

At 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to the report of a trespassing suspect in the 3200 block of Sierra Street. A 70-year-old man was arrested for trespassing at the residence.

During the afternoon at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to the Riverbank substation for the report of criminal threats.

Later Saturday at 5:45 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a traffic collision, property damage only, at the intersection of Claus Road and Claribel Road.

At 7:08 p.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to Best Buy for a violation of a restraining order. The suspect was gone when deputies arrived, and the investigation is ongoing.

Deputies responded to the Home Depot on a possible theft in progress on Saturday at 9:08 p.m. When deputies arrived, store management advised that a 35-year-old man had been in the store several times prior, taking items and running out of the store without paying. The suspect initially lied to deputies about his name but was eventually positively identified and found to have several warrants out for his arrest. He was taken into custody without incident.

On Friday, July 29 at 8:30 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a public nuisance at Veterans Park. Deputies contacted a 39-year-old man who was acting erratic, possibly under the influence of drugs. He was arrested for drunk in public and found to be in possession of methamphetamine. He was booked at county jail. Two other subjects were also detained; a 41-year-old was found to have multiple warrants and gave a false name while a 29-year-old was found to have multiple warrants and arrested.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Claus Road and Sierra Street on Friday at 10 p.m. A 45-year-old man was found to have a warrant for his arrest and was transported to county Jail.

On Thursday, July 28 at 1 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Oakdale Road and Candlewood Place. Deputies contacted a 40-year-old man, who had multiple warrants and narcotics. He was arrested and transported to jail.

Deputies responded to the report of a theft in progress, in the Riverbank Food Center on Thursday at 9:25 a.m. A 52-year-old man was inside eating food and reportedly was seen on camera the day prior, breaking into the business and stealing an employee’s bicycle. He was arrested and transported to county jail.

On Thursday at 9:57 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a traffic collision, property damage only, in front of the Riverbank Community Center.

At 11 a.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to a grand theft in the 5000 block of Gold River Court.

During the afternoon at 12:48 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the report of a violation of a court order in the 2700 block of Topeka Street.

Deputies responded to the report of a fight in the 2400 block of Sierra Street on Thursday at 4:20 p.m. A 41-year-old was arrested for assault.

During the evening on Thursday at 6:50 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a petty theft in the 3300 block of Riverside Drive.

At 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the report of a credit card fraud at the Five Guys.
