There was plenty of action in the City of Riverbank this past week including a variety of calls for service for officers with the Riverbank Police Services.

On Sunday, Aug. 28 at 10:56 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a subject armed with a knife threatening to harm themselves in the 2600 block of Briarcliff Drive. The Sheriff’s hostage negotiation team assisted, and deputies attempted to deescalate the situation for about two hours. Unfortunately, the adult male attempted to leave the perimeter threatening the safety of the community. Less than lethal options were deployed. The option was effective, the subject was taken into protective custody.

During the evening on Sunday at 8:27 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a fight where a subject was struck with a weapon in the 3400 block of Santa Fe Street. The investigation is ongoing.

On Saturday, Aug. 27 at 12:43 a.m., deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for traveling over 90 mph on Roselle Avenue into Patterson Road. The vehicle failed to stop and a short pursuit ensued. The pursuit was canceled due to unsafe speeds. The investigation is ongoing.

At 2:08 a.m. on Saturday, deputies stopped a vehicle near Oakdale Road and Mable Avenue for CVC violations. The driver, a 41-year-old man, was found to be DUI and was arrested.

On Friday, Aug. 26 at 12:08 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the report of subject stealing items from the O’Brien’s Market. A 23-year-old was arrested for the theft.

At 2:38 p.m. on Friday, deputies responded to a hit and run vehicle collision at Fourth Street and Atchison Street. The investigation is ongoing.

Deputies responded to the report of a subject throwing an object at a moving vehicle causing damage on Friday at 4:11 p.m. A 37-year-old was arrested for vandalism.

On Thursday, Aug. 25 at 10:30 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a traffic collision, property damage only, at the intersection of Oakdale Road and Freddi Lane.

At 2:50 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the report of a traffic collision, property damage only, at the intersection of Rose Brook Drive and South Rose Brook Drive.

Deputies responded to the report of a robbery at Save Mart on Thursday at 2:52 p.m. Three female adults loaded a cart with red bull and ran out of the store. When confronted by an employee, one of the females punched him in the face twice before fleeing. The investigation is ongoing.

On Thursday at 3:30 p.m., deputies found a 48-year-old man in the Crossroads complex; he was arrested for several outstanding warrants.

On Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 7:11 p.m., deputies observed a male subject driving erratically at the intersection of Roselle Avenue and Briggsmore Avenue. The driver, a 37-year-old man, was found to be driving under the influence. He was arrested and booked without incident.

On Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 9:41 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Estelle Avenue and Patterson Road on a four-vehicle accident with minor injuries.

Deputies were dispatched to the REACT Center to arrest a 34-year-old woman who was wanted for several thefts that had occurred in Riverbank on Tuesday at 12:56 p.m. She was arrested and charged with the thefts.

On Monday, Aug. 22 at 7:44 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 3700 block of Stanislaus Street on a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was stolen from the front of the residence and the investigation is ongoing.

At 2:21 p.m. on Monday, deputies were dispatched to a petty theft on Patterson Road. This theft is related to an ongoing issue with the same subject. The investigation is ongoing.

On Monday at 8:59 p.m., deputies attempted to conduct a bike stop at the intersection of Eighth Street and Patterson Road on a 46-year-old man who is known to have active, outstanding warrants. The subject failed to stop and led deputies on a foot pursuit. Deputies lost sight of him but found him again on the north side of Highway 108 and Claus Road. The man slid down the hillside and was later found hiding in bushes. He was arrested for the warrants and several additional charges.
