The first week of April had Riverbank Police Services deputies handling a variety of calls for service including stolen vehicles, drunk in public, battery, and possession of narcotics.

On Sunday, April 10 at 3:08 p.m., deputies responded to a recovered stolen vehicle. The reporting party called Riverbank Police Services and stated his vehicle was stolen last night in Ceres and he found it today, parked at Atchison Street and Second Street.

Sunday evening at 6:40 p.m., deputies located an abandoned vehicle in the 2200 block of Patterson Road. The vehicle had previously been reported stolen.

On Saturday, April 9 at 3:45 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle in the O’Brien’s parking lot. Deputies located William Catron, 29, in a stolen vehicle. A firearm and narcotics were located in the vehicle. Catron was booked into jail.

Deputies attempted to stop Jorge Garcia for multiple felony warrants on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. Garcia fled and hid in heavy foliage. After refusing to come out, a K9 was used to apprehend Garcia. He was booked for the warrants and possession of methamphetamine.

During the morning on Saturday at 11:30 a.m., deputies responded to a disturbance in the 3200 block of Sierra Street. A battery report was taken.

At 1:55 p.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to the report of shell casings that were found in the 6400 block of Railroad Avenue.

During the evening on Saturday at 8:50 p.m., deputies responded to the report of an attempted residential burglary in the 3400 block of Arizona Avenue.

On Friday, April 8 at 1:20 p.m., deputies responded to the report of vandalism in the 2400 block of Patterson Road. The victim’s solar panels were damaged overnight.

At 3 p.m. on Friday, deputies responded to the report of a traffic collision, property damage only, at the intersection of California and Eighth streets.

Deputies observed Isaac Vaughn, 41, riding his bicycle through town on Friday at 4:30 p.m. Vaughn is on felony probation for robbery. Authorities said he quickly rode to a location in the 3400 block of Santa Fe Street. A probation search was completed, and Vaughn was taken into custody; arrested for a robbery warrant.

Late night on Friday at 11:15 p.m., deputies responded to a shooting at the intersection of Callandar Avenue and Sierra Street. An adult male was struck by gunfire and is in stable condition at a local hospital. The investigation is ongoing.

On Thursday, April 7 at 8 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a traffic collision hit and run, property damage only, in the 3900 block of Patterson Road.

At 10 a.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 2500 block of Promenade Way.

On Thursday at 12:20 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a petty theft at the Save Mart.

Deputies responded to the report of a disturbance in the 3400 block of Stanislaus Street on Thursday at 10 p.m. A 41-year-old woman was found to be drunk in public. She was arrested.

Late night on Thursday at 10:22 p.m., deputies responded to the report of an attempted collision of a vehicle versus bicyclist in the Target parking lot. Three juveniles were riding their bikes during the hours of darkness through the parking lot with no lighting devices. They claimed a vehicle tried to run them over and left.

Just after midnight on Wednesday, April 6, deputies stopped a vehicle for vehicle code violations near Callandar Avenue and Topeka Street. The driver was arrested after he was found with methamphetamine.

On Wednesday at 5:45 a.m., deputies responded for the report of a stolen vehicle from the 6000 block of Equestrian Drive. The victim started her car in the driveway to let it warm up. The victim went inside and left her car unattended. An unknown suspect took the vehicle from the residence.

On Wednesday at 4:15 p.m., deputies observed Brock Petersen, known to be on PRCS (Post Release Community Supervision), sitting in a parked BMW in the 3700 block of Iowa Avenue. The vehicle was found to be stolen and Petersen was booked for auto theft.

Deputies observed a 39-year-old man stumbling around the parking lot of the Shell Station on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. He was found to be drunk in public and arrested.

On Tuesday, April 5 at 7:43 a.m., deputies responded to the 2400 block of Heartland Drive on a two-vehicle accident. Parties exchanged information and no injuries were reported.

On Monday, April 4 at 10:09 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Atchison Street and Second Street on a two-vehicle accident. One person reported minor injuries.
