Meanwhile, an arrest in Stockton on Monday, Jan. 12, led Stanislaus Sheriff’s detectives to identify a man wanted in connection with a Nov. 27 armed robbery in Riverbank.

Enrique Aaron Reyes, 26, of Union City, was arrested by Stockton Police on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. During the interview after the arrest, Reyes informed Stockton investigators that he was involved in a Riverbank robbery. Stockton Police contacted Stanislaus Sheriff’s Detective Eric Torres about the admission and Detective Torres later questioned Reyes.

During questioning by Detective Torres, Reyes admitted he robbed the Shell gas station in the 3100 block of Atchison Street at gunpoint.

During the Nov. 27 robbery, sheriff’s officials said the robber walked into the gas station, grabbed some merchandise and then approached the counter as if he were going to pay for the items. While the employee was totaling up the items, the robber pulled out a handgun and demanded all the money from the cash register.

The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

At the time of the robbery witnesses described the suspect as a black man in his 20s, wearing a black coat, blue pants and a blue knitted-cap.

Reyes remained in custody at San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp pending the Stockton charges. Officials stated that once Reyes is released from San Joaquin County custody, he will be arrested in the Riverbank robbery case.
