Riverbank Police Services deputies were busy as the calendar turned from 2022 to 2023, handling a variety of calls for service in Riverbank over the long holiday weekend.
On Monday, Jan. 2 at midafternoon, deputies responded to Galaxy Theatre for a report of a stolen vehicle. During the afternoon on Monday at 4:40 p.m., deputies responded to the 3400 block of Stanislaus Street for a vandalism report. A 42-year-old woman was subsequently arrested for felony vandalism. She was transported to the Stanislaus County Detention Center and booked.
On Sunday, Jan. 1 from 12:01 a.m. to 12:40 a.m. there were eight calls for service regarding sounds of gunshots or fireworks that were received from around the Riverbank community. No arrests were made as a result of the calls.
At 2:39 a.m. on New Year’s Day, deputies responded to the 3100 block Topeka Street for an assault report. The report will be sent to the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office.
During the afternoon on New Year’s at 4:08 p.m., deputies contacted a subject who was found running with an item from Home Depot. The item was valued at $1,699.
On Saturday, Dec. 31 – New Year’s Eve – at 2:04 p.m., deputies responded to Target for a theft report.
On Friday, Dec. 30 at 4:09 a.m., deputies responded to a vehicle collision. Deputies found a solo vehicle that had hit the center median after driving through a puddle. There was no damage to the median and no injuries.
