Deputies See Busy Week In Riverbank

During the past week, Riverbank Police Services had a number of calls for service to answer including domestic disputes, a vehicle pursuit, vehicle accidents and more.

During the early hours on Monday, Jan.18, deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident at Saxon Way and McArthur Court. One of the involved parties was transported to a hospital for minor injuries.

During the afternoon on Saturday, Jan. 16 deputies responded to a security check in the 3000 block of High Street. After their investigation deputies arrested a subject for child endangerment.

Deputies were dispatched to the 2900 block of Fern Court to security check the residents on Saturday evening. They subsequently arrested a 43-year-old for violation of a restraining order.

On Friday, Jan. 15 in the evening, deputies were dispatched to the 6100 block of Roselle Avenue on a dispute. A 38-year-old was arrested in connection with the incident after deputies completed their investigation.

During the early morning hours on Thursday, Jan. 14, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding near Eighth Street and Santa Fe Street. The vehicle fled from deputies reaching speeds near 100 mph. A pursuit was initiated, and the vehicle was stopped on Highway 108 just outside of town. The driver, identified as Osvaldo Olagues, 18, was arrested for felony and recklessly evading and for illegal possession of drugs.

Also Thursday morning, deputies were dispatched to the report of a dispute in the 2800 block of Prospectors Court and arrested a 41-year-old in connection with the case.

During the afternoon on Thursday, deputies observed a 42-year-old man at Veterans Park. Deputies knew the subject had warrants for his arrest, after the warrants were confirmed he was contacted and arrested for the warrants.

Deputies arrested a 29-year-old man in the 3400 block of Sierra Street for a warrant of a stolen vehicle out of Modesto and Oakdale in the morning on Wednesday, Jan. 13.

On Wednesday afternoon, deputies stopped a subject near Patterson Avenue and Railroad Avenue as they appeared intoxicated. The subject displayed obvious signs of alcohol intoxication and was unable to care for himself. The 25-year-old man was arrested for public drunkenness.

Late in the evening on Tuesday, Jan.12, deputies conducted a bicycle stop near Fourth and Santa Fe Streets for vehicle code violations. The rider, a 31-year-old man, was found to have multiple warrants and was taken into custody.
