The Leaf also remains the best-selling electric car in the world since it was first introduced in 2010, a function of its performance as well as its widespread availability. For electric car buyers with some money to spend, the third most popular model of 2018, the Tesla Model S, might do the job. Starting at around $75,000, the Model S can accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds and its 100 kWh battery allows it to run 315 miles before needing to be recharged.
