ASTRO, the Animal Shelter To Riverbank and Oakdale, received the check for $25,000 from PetCo Love, a non-profit ‘changing lives’ arm of the pet store corporation. Sevier said that he was proud to be helping this local ASTRO branch, which, he said, was ranked 11th in the nation among branches. The ASTRO Foundation is also a non-profit animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing homeless dogs and cats from the Riverbank/Oakdale area. Its recently-opened adoption center is at 157 N. Fifth Ave., Oakdale.
