Downtown Riverbank businesses are banding together once more to host visitors to the area in their third annual Sip ‘n Stroll event on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The event is scheduled to start about 4 p.m. and run into the evening. The local businesses will be open for the special event, starting at the intersection of Third and Santa Fe streets.

The Downtown Riverbank Business Coalition has been organizing the event, with a large number of stores participating.

Even though they’re not downtown, the F&M Bank will be having a booth, organizing a “passport” of sorts, where patrons will collect stamps from each of the participants, then enter in a drawing for special prizes.

According to organizers, the Sip ‘n Stroll is a “free community event put on by the Downtown Riverbank Business Coalition to encourage folks to check out all the great things the area has to offer.”

They point out it’s “an opportunity to meet the local business owners while enjoying free refreshments.” Residents and shoppers are invited to “stop by, sip wine and nibble on snacks provided at no cost.”

The coalition is advertising the event as fun for all ages, with free wine for those 21 and older, and snacks, free entertainment and local vendors participating, alongside the downtown businesses.

One might ask, “Who is the Downtown Riverbank Business Coalition?” Members say they “are a group of business owners in Downtown Riverbank who have joined together to showcase what the area has to offer” and said they work together to “improve it in any way we can.”
