Riverbank High alumni and former school board member Egidio “Jeep” Oliveira, on the far side, served as the Grand Marshal of this year’s Homecoming Parade, getting his own ride to lead off Friday’s after school event. The route, in downtown, is similar to the Christmas parade, coming down Santa Fe, turning on Third and returning to the Community Center Park.

The Homecoming King and Queen candidates rode in pairs in the Friday afternoon parade in downtown Riverbank. The winning couple was crowned during halftime of the football game in the Angelo Novi Stadium on the RHS campus.

The RHS band, in full marching uniforms, takes the turn at Third and Santa Fe streets in downtown Riverbank last Friday. They were marching in the Homecoming Parade, but didn’t get to perform at halftime of the game that night, because of the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen.

Homecoming Week wouldn’t be complete without a parade and this year’s edition occurred on Friday, Sept. 7 in Riverbank.

King and Queen candidates, classes, musical groups, Grand Marshal ‘Jeep’ Oliveira and more paraded along the downtown Riverbank route on Friday afternoon, following a rally at the high school and prior to the evening football games and crowning of new Homecoming royalty.
